Urgent Message from Jones Senior High School (7-12) - Thursday. 1.21.2021: JSHS (7-12) Zoom / Virtual Meeting Schedule for our Virtual Only Learning: Grades 7-8: CTE 8:45 - 9:45 Math 9:45 - 10:45 Science 10:45 - 11:45 English 11:45 - 12:45 History 12:45 - 1:45 Encore - 1:45 - 2:45 Grades 9-12: 1st Period @ 8:00 AM 2nd Period @ 9:30 AM 3rd Period @ 11:00 AM 4th Period @ 1:30 PM Expectations for Virtual Only learning: -There must be some opportunity for Virtual / Zoom (Face to face interaction) between our students and teachers each day. -Zoom / Virtual Class meetings should be held during the normal school day hours (the schedules provided above) for fairness and consistency for our students and families. URGENT MESSAGE FROM JSHS ATHLETICS: In lieu of our school moving to Virtual Only learning for the next two (2) weeks for the safety of our students and staff; we will also “PAUSE” all High School (9-12) Athletics and Middle School (6-8) Athletics through Wednesday, 2.3.2021. Per the recommendation of the Jones County Health Department, Jones Senior High School (7-12) will be operating as Remote Only through February 3rd as a PRECAUTIONARY measure. No cluster has been identified. All Jones Senior High School (7-12) students will be remote through February 3rd. Cohort B students at JSHS (7-12) will resume Face to Face on February 4th.

URGENT MESSAGE from Jones Senior High School (7-12) - Wed. 1.20.2021 : Hello JSHS (7-12) Trojans Family: As a cautionary step and based on the recommendation from our Jones County Health Department, we will be going to Remote / Virtual Learning Only for All students at Jones Senior High School (7-12) for the next two (2) weeks from today (Wednesday, 1.20.2021) through Wednesday, 2.3.2021.   We will return to Blended learning with our B cohort students at Jones Senior High School (7-12) on Thursday, 2.4.2021. Please understand that we do not have a positive covid cluster at our school, which is defined as a minimum of five (5) positive covid cases in a fourteen (14) day period of time.  However, as we continue to see our covid related exposures and positive cases rise within our school for our students (grades 7-12) and our staff, we as a JCPS district and JSHS administration, feel we need to move to Remote Learning Only for a couple of weeks as a precaution to ensure the continued safety and wellness of our students and staff. Note:  This move to Virtual / Remote Learning Only for our Jones Senior High School (7-12) does not affect any of our Elementary Schools in our Jones County Public Schools System.   Our Elementary Schools will still meet for their regular face to face instruction. Jones Senior HS (7-12) Announcement: Tuesday, 1.19.2021 JSHS Trojans Basketball - Change in plans Our basketball teams (Varsity Girls and Varsity Boys) games @ Tarboro HS have been CANCELLED for tonight (Tuesday, 1.19.2021). These games will be rescheduled for a later date: TBA (possibly this Thursday, 1.21.2021). Our Varsity Girls and Varsity Boys basketball teams will not practice today, but will resume practices tomorrow (Wednesday, 1.20.2021) at normal practice times. Due to the Southside HS Girls Basketball team currently being under quarantine, our Varsity Girls basketball game at Southside HS for Friday, 1.22.2021 has been CANCELLED. It will be rescheduled for a later date. Our Varsity Boys Basketball game at Southside HS will now be played at 4:30 PM on Friday, 1.22.2021. Thank you and Go Trojans!

A Message from Jones Senior High School (7-12) - Saturday, January 9th, 2021 - 6:00 PM A few reminders for our upcoming week: Report Cards for Fall Semester will be distributed this week on each student's A & B cohort days. All Virtual students Fall Semester Report Cards will be mailed home this week. On Tuesday, January 12th we have our College Appreciation day and we encourage all students and staff to wear a shirt for their favorite college, as we stir conversations with our students about the importance of further education beyond high school. On Tuesday, January 12th we have home basketball games vs Riverside High School. Friday, January 15th, we have home basketball games vs. Pamlico County High School. Remember we are limited to twenty-five (25) home fans only for each game and we give first option to purchase these limited number of tickets to the parents of our student-athletes. On Monday, January 18th, we will honor Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday with No School for students or staff. Hope everyone has a great weekend and we look forward to seeing you back at JSHS for more high quality teaching and learning this week! Go Trojans!

Congratulations JSHS FFA - 2020 Neuse FFA Federation Canned Food Drive Champions!! Very Proud of our Jones Senior High School (7-12) Trojans FFA Club for collecting the most cans in the 2020 Neuse FFA Federation Canned Food Drive!! The Neuse FFA Federation collected 890 total items, with our JSHS FFA collecting 436 items towards this great cause!
