Welcome to Maysville Elementary School – A True Gem in Eastern North Carolina

Nestled just 20 miles from the beautiful North Carolina coast, Maysville Elementary is the only public school serving the town of Maysville, NC. As a small, close-knit school community, we proudly serve approximately 120 students in grades Pre-K through Fifth, creating an ideal environment for personalized learning and strong relationships.

Our student population reflects the rich diversity of our community:

• 9% Hispanic

• 8% Multiracial

With small class sizes that fall below the state average, each classroom benefits from the support of a teacher assistant for part of the instructional day. Our entire instructional team is composed of 100% highly qualified educators, including graduate degress and certifications—a testament to our commitment to academic excellence.

Students receive robust support in both academics and enrichment. We are fortunate to have two PE teachers, allowing students to participate in daily PE classes four days a week. In addition, students enjoy weekly Encore classes in media/technology and music. Every child is provided with an iPad, and classrooms are equipped with interactive SMART Panels and SMART Response Systems, with additional MacBook carts available for instructional use.

This year marks our twelfth year of Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS), and we are excited to expand our work with the implementation of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS). These frameworks help ensure we meet the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of every student. We are proud to maintain a high school safety rating and to serve as a valued resource for our town, offering access to school facilities, playfields, and community programs. Maysville Elementary is fully accredited by AdvancED (SACS).

We are incredibly fortunate to be supported by a dedicated and tight-knit community of parents, neighbors, and local partners. Our families are deeply invested in the success of our students and school, participating actively in school events and supporting our programs both during and after the school day. We are grateful for the ongoing partnership of community organizations and businesses including Farmer’s Kitchen, Hardee’s, Piggly Wiggly, local churches, the Maysville Garden Club, and the Swansboro Rotary Club.
